Our two local Republican Congressmen, Pete Olson and Ron Paul, along with Senators Hutchison and Cornyn, are with us in this objection to the President’s plan. But they will need help from others in Congress, and mainly the moderate Democrats to fight this legislation. The liberals have made it very clear...they want a single-payer public government-run system. The Republicans have the alternatives and are trying to get them considered. Much of this information is provided in this email. If you need a list of the Blue Dog democrats, please let me know and I will send you this information.
Here are several questions for you to consider about what is happening in Washington:
- Is is too much to ask or expect our elected officials to read and understand proposed legislation prior to voting on whatever is before them? The responses of some the Democrats (Conyers and Specter in particular) are simply amazing...we don’t have time to read it and we need lawyers to help us understand it. But the speed of the so-called stimulus bill made it very difficult to read it...intentionally. Is this responsible leadership of our elected officials? The answers are NO. We must hold these people accountable...they work for us the last time I looked. Shame on us if we don’t do something to get the right people in these critical positions.
- Does the Administration and Liberal Congress really think that the American people are stupid and not concerned about what they are trying to do to our Country? It is obvious that they do...the problem they now have is that people are responding and making life difficult for them...and I believe that some of them know that their jobs are on the line. We could see a reversal of the House leadership in the 2010 election...it certainly is not out of the question if this socialization of our Country continues.
- Have we seen real and effective leadership from this President, either in our national issues and in our foreign policy? This President is clearly narcissistic in his approach to leadership, and certainly lacking experience as the chief executive of this Nation, serving as our President. He has apologized for the US around the world. His remarks at the last Press Conference about the police actions in Cambridge and the medical profession clearly show who he is and what he stands for...and his lack of understanding that his words are important. But the problem for him in this situation was that TOTUS was not available...he had to speak without the script, when his real feelings and beliefs come out. You did know that the police are stupid and that doctors only work to make money by having their patients take procedures they don’t really need. Holy cow...this is amazing stuff. Can you imagine what would have happened if President Bush had said these things?
- What happened to the campaign pledge to make this Administration transparent in all activities? The answer is that they never intended to. Words are great...but actions are what really make the difference...and this Administration is deceitful, untruthful and socialistic in everything they are doing.
- Does the President really believe that we will stand for a tax increase that hits Americans in the middle class, when he has said this would not be the case? Remember “read my lips” from President Bush about the tax issue and what happened to him? Tax increases across the board are inevitable if the spending continues...which should mean that this President should surely be a one-term President. Oh, I forgot, the American people are stupid and they won’t really care. What we really need is a complete revision of the tax system...and a balanced budget. And we are NOT stupid and getting smarter every day!
- Does the Administration and Liberal Congress really think that they can continue to spend money and not raise everyone’s taxes? Our nation’s debt is worse than ever before in the history of our country...and with the less than expected tax revenues coming in, the only remedy is to tax everyone and everything. Certainly they will not reduce the spending and the funding of the entitlement programs...unless they hear the handwriting on the wall that their jobs are in jeopardy. This is where the TEA Party efforts will help us.
- When will this President take responsibility for his Administration and stop blaming President Bush for the failures that are occurring 7 months into his “reign?” For as long as the liberal media allow him to get away with it. The “Chicago-style” politics are alive and well...until we stop it.

American Taxpayers And Businesses Will Be Shouldered With Over $1.6 Trillion In New Spending And $800 Billion In New Taxes To Pay For Government-Run Health Care. "Democrats argue the number should be $1 trillion, a number provided by the Congressional Budget Office for the net cost of the portion of the bill affecting health insurance, and they boasted in press releases that the bill actually creates a $6 billion surplus over the coming decade. Even Obama’s Budget Director Acknowledges His Proposal Won’t Make Insurance More Affordable. "The rapidly rising cost of health care, Obama has said, is 'a threat to our economy' ... So a critical test of the health reform proposals lumbering through Congress is whether they defuse that bomb. The answer, so far, is no. That was the message ... Peter Orszag sent to the chairs of three House committees that released a 'discussion draft' of legislation last month ... As Mr. Orszag put it, 'Adopting a deficit-neutral health reform that expands coverage ... is not enough, because it would perpetuate a system in which best practices are far from universal and costs are too high.'" National Insurance Czar Will Create Strict, One-Size-Fits-All Regulations For Health Coverage, Leading To Higher Premium Costs. "A qualified health benefits plan shall meet a medical loss ratio as defined by the Commissioner. For any plan year in which the qualified health benefits plan does not meet such medical loss ratio, QHBP offering entity shall provide in a manner specified by the Commissioner for rebates to enrollees of payment sufficient to meet such loss ratio ... The Commissioner shall build on the definition and methodology developed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services under the amendments made by section 161 for determining how to calculate the medical loss ratio. Such methodology shall be set at the highest level medical loss ratio possible that is designed to ensure adequate participation by QHBP offering entities, competition in the health insurance market in and out of the Health Insurance Exchange, and value for consumers so that their premiums are used for services." Obama’s Plan Will Force People To Pay Tax If They Don’t Want To Buy Government-Approved Insurance. "Don't have health insurance? Don't want to pay for it? Too bad. It's looking like President Barack Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress are going to require you to pick up the bill. In Washington-speak, it's called an individual mandate--or a requirement that people who don't already have health insurance to purchase it, much like most states require drivers to have automobile insurance ... Republican Plans Will Provide Tax Relief To Make It Easier For Uninsured Americans To Get Coverage, And Help Insured Americans Pay For Their Current Coverage. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY): "To get to the problem of uninsured, we have to equalize the tax code. Business provides health insurance for its employees. If an individual buys insurance, it is not deductible. Number two, we should be incentivizing wellness programs targeting smoking, obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and lack of exercise. Safeway have been able to cut health-care costs by incentivizing employees to take good care of their health.
